Former Cohen's Trafe Palace/CWA

The former retail emporium was built in two stages in 1908 and 1917, by owner, Mr Sam Sheather.

Solomon Cohen’s Trade Palace operated from the premises from 1908 until the 1930s. Cohen also had a larger store in Cootamundra, which continued trading after the Stockinbingal store closed.

The building was then used as meeting rooms by various groups. The property was purchased by the County Women’s Association in 1945 and used by the CWA for their meetings and rest rooms until 1987.

The Stockinbingal branch of the CWA was established in late 1925, serving the local community for many decades.

The building is now in private ownership.
