Stockinbingal Public School

The first application for a provisional school at Stockinbingal was made in 1887. A bark hut near Bland Creek served as a local schoolhouse from around 1890, and in 1893, a site was set aside for a school to be built. A new weatherboard school room was built and opened in March 1894, with an enrolment of 23 pupils, and with Mr A Kendall as the first teacher. A teacher’s residence was also built around this time. In 1911, the main school building was erected and in 1960, a third classroom was added. The administration area was built in 1994, followed by a covered outdoor learning area in 2000 and a new classroom in 2010.
